Zafuko started in Bali where Katia van Roosbroeck lived as a single mother, breathing in the wonder and joy of Bali's nature and culture. She created Zafuko to bring the spirit of Bali back to the USA. Popularly used in Southeast Asia for sitting, meditation, and socializing, these types of meditation cushions are ethically made with fibers from Kapok tree pods using sustainable and fair-trade practices.
Zafuko is a combination of two Japanese words: ZAFU, a Japanese style meditation cushion, and KO, meaning small.
